Golden Thread Steamed Fish.
An easy and quick dish, children love it. Many types of fish
steaks can be used. One can used groupa, cod and snapper. One
healthy Chinese style steam fish steak.
Ingredients :
1 1/2inchs grouper fish steak (about 150gm)
1/2 inch ginger Julienne
3 tbs of light soya sauce
1 stalk spring onion Julienne
3 tbs of cooking oil
pinch of salt
dash of pepper
Method :
Clean fish steak pat dry, rub salt and set a
side.
Prepare a wok for steaming.
When ready for steaming place fish steak on a deep metal plate.
Steam the fish steak for about 7 to 10 mins
until just cook and removed. Drain the water form the fish.
Heat oil in wok, add julienna ginger and spring onion stir fried
until crispy and ginger become golden. Remove and place on top
of the fish.
Add soy sauce and pepper in remaining oil in low heat, give
a quick stir remove and pour over the steamed fish and served.
Tip:
Different thickness of fish cooked in timming. Successfull cooking
steamed fish is not to over cooked. Over cooked fish tend to
be harden or slightly rubbery. Make sure that the water in wok
is boiling before placing the fish to be steam. The lid of the
wok must be properly covered and timed the cooking.
Lastly make sure enough water to steam food. Not a good idea
to add water in wok if water drying out.
